Is this in MacMail Das?
I don’t think they cancel accounts as far as I’m aware, and not before telling you a billion times I expect.
It sounds like it is offline, which mens your password needs resetting possibly. Look very carefully for any messages about this on the screen, these messages are very wee.
Click on the icon as well, and see what info it gives.

Dear All,
My iCloud mail account has a circle with a squiggly line through it on my Mac. It is the symbol of no connection. It is not working.
Any ideas on how to get it working?
I’m on a MacBook Pro using Sonoma as my OS.
Clicking on the circle does nothing.. nothing happens.
I have taken the account online a number of times but nothing happens.
Does Apple cancel iCloud membership at some point as your Mac ages?
Thanks for any help,
Das Goravani
