Studio 10.22 coloring the Tabpane

I am attempting to color my app such that all window backgrounds have a nice
gently blue shade, which makes entry fields and pushbttons etc stand out
clearly.

I cannot find the right settings for the tabpane. The best I can get is:
Change $fieldstyle to CtrlTabStrip so I can change the $backcolor.
Change $backgroundtheme to kBGThemeNone
Change $backcolor and $forecolor to RGB(203,229,254)

This still leaves a narrow white horizontal strip across the full width of
the component from half way down the tabs to the top of the accessible page
area. Anyone know how to do this?
