Super thankful to you - I have a positive result !!

It turned out that it was another Omnis holding that port open (doh !) - in all cases either I had a development version running when testing a new runtime - or my users had not (as requested) quit their prior version before trying the new one so had the same result !!

There was another error I found later where one of my libraries was a teeny weeny bit corrupted (something I have not seen with Omnis in a *very* long time) but that was a sideshow in the end (well probably not but in the time taken it was)

What a saga !!

But my sincere thanks for getting me on that track to start unravelling my horrible day !!!
