Can't copy to Mac from VMWare Windows

Hi Das,
I've had that happen to me as well in VMware. Cut and paste and other operations that usually worked stopped working after a crash or reboot of the host or even just in using it normally! I recall where cut and paste stopped working after the machine went to sleep once, a reboot of the host machine solved this particular issue though. But I've had other issues with VMware too. You may need to uninstall and reinstall the product and the uninstall is messy. You can't just delete the app, you need to delete all supporting files as well. You can do that following this link
kb.vmware.com/s/article/1017838#:~:text=Process%20to%20Uninstall%20VMware%20Fusion%2010.&text=x%20and%20later%2C%20there%20is,Applications%20folder%20to%20the%20Trash.
If the link does not come though the email, search for "How to Uninstall VMware Fusion Manually (1017838)" and that should get you to the proper page on how to uninstall everything. Then, just run the most recent installer to put everything back the way it ought to be (hopefully). Remember to update the VM Tools too in your VM itself as mentioned by others in this thread. You should be able to run that by mounting their "tools" virtual CD image if it does not offer to run automatically when starting the VM again.
As an aside, I switched to Parallels about 18 months ago after struggling with VMware and a new Mac OS release. VMWare would not boot the VM erroring out with an issue with the "display." I tried uninstalling and re-installing and most times this worked and I was then able to run the VM. But then things started to error out after a host machine restart or just when restarting the VM after an update. I was spending hours trying to get VMWare to start again, and, after a particularly long struggle, I tried Parallels and while I think it's a bit slower than VMware was, it has yet to not start a VM. Conversion to Parallel's was simple, simply pointing it to the old VMWare VM file and it is up and running in very short order. No, I don't own stock in Parallel's company - I just have found it easier to use and more stable. Their support is generally very good and they are good about following up with you to make sure whatever situation is resolved.
Kind regards,
