what is the Report Trick to limit a vertical extending field -- I can't remember it

hi all

for the life of me, I can’t remember a trick thats been around for eons to limit the vertical height of an extending field on a report.


Here’s the situation:
- I have a text field on a report.  we’ll call it ’textField’
- the text field is set as ‘vertical Extending’. 
- I’ve given it a few lines.






as I recall, if you used ’no line if empty’  in conjunction with some sort of calculation …. and you could get the field to only be the height of the text that was in the line.    (But thats I’m not sure about)


the essential problem is that I want rows below this field to move up if the text in textField is shorter and move down if the text in ’TextField’ is longer.


  Does anybody recall how to do this?
