ODB omnis databridge failure after first connection

Hi,

You might try starting and stopping the bridge directly after setting the ODBridge service to be manual as it might give you a better error message when it tries to start. If I recall correctly, you just need to navigate to the directory you have the ODB software installed and from the command line:

To stop:

C:> odbridge.exe kill ("kill" forcibly disconnects everyone and shuts down the bridge - you can use "shutdown" instead to be nice, but it will fail if users are connected)

Then to start:

C:> odbridge.exe start

Obviously, it should just "Start" for you, but if there are errors it might provide a better error than what you're currently getting by starting this way. You can also change some of the logging by changing the config.xml values it starts with, namely the ODBLogLevel element - you have 4 choices:

0 No Logging except loading of config
1 Startup, shutdown and errors
2 as above plus warnings and client connections and disconnections
3 as above plus all other client activity

Also, make sure your config.xml file is valid too and that all of your clients have a different serial number or are setup with a multi user serial number. More recent versions of the bridge should let you know if a client connection is attempted with the same serial number in the "messages.txt" file.

Hope this helps you get to an answer!

Kind regards,
