SQL SERVER - SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL READ UNCOMMITTED

Hey $all, i am going nuts on this one...

If i execute the following from SQL SERVER MANAGEMENT STUDIO, the 
command DBCC USEROPTIONS gives me the correct result, i.c. isolation 
level = read uncomitted

SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL READ UNCOMMITTED

If i execute this from within Omnis (Classic), the isolation level does 
not change.

I tried to do this right after log in, right after session start, right 
after opening DB, all to no avail, i really don't know anymore @#@@#{|
