is it possible…. yes.
I’ve given omnis/linux running in docker container with our externals to omnis support as part of trying to resolve a problem. I beleive you can get omnis/linux in a docker container from omnis directly.
in our cloud we are running omnis in LXC containers using Proxmox.
Proxmox is a cool virtual container environment running in linux
LCX containers are the VM for docker and does full system virtualization
these are created with Ansible scripts
and we run quite a number of them on our servers and have done some for a number of years.
at the 2018 Euromnis in Germany, Kurt ( one of the Artsmen Team) spoke on the tech stack we used and are still using.
so, Omnis and docker. we have talked in the past of using this on Mac and WIndows because it gets around all the crud that the Mac oS and windows is doing to people trying to run server apps … you don’t have to worry about Gatekeeper and such.
Just my thoughts. Omnis as server under linux is pretty good for what we want it to do. I think we are using Ubuntu 20.04 at this time.
