Andrea,

Kelly Burgess on the list created an xcomp wrapped around ImageMagick.
Search the list for "ImageMagicker".

IMO you're better off using TIFF files vs. JPEG.

Or you can install ImageMagick directly on your machine and interact with it from omnis via. CLI.
