On the Server I am running Catalina. On my MacBook Pro I am running Monterey. I got my server to work again. In the end it was small things that I don’t think of right away, though I should. I learned a lot going through this nightmare this time.

Specifically it was privelages on the private key file that made the trick. My server’s user needed to have privileges to read or read/write to that file, the private key. Once I did that I was able to select it for use. Before that it was grayed out in the dialog box. I couldn’t select it so I couldn’t use it and that was creating all kinds of issues with the server and connecting. Now that that is sorted out everything is chipper once again.
