It is important for us developing for web applications and mobile apps to take into account delegation of operation between the server side that can use these approaches and eventual delegation of list-based operations to the individual mobile client itself. It might be a very good idea to take the performance loss by less optimal code if it can be performed at the mobile client - keeping down the workload of the server.
