Hello Andy,
PGAdmin3 had the ability to open and amend the HBA_config file thingy. V3 doesn’t work under Catalina etc. :(
And this new v4 PGAdmin doesn’t seem to be able to do this at all, which is poor.
So unless you go digging around, setting privileges, etc, it is now much harder.
Thanks
Mike Matthews

Is It not just a change to the postgresql.conf file and a restart of the Postgres service ? (In both cases, 10 and 14)
You could script that but it would be tricky to ensure you got the right one - I don’t know about you but I find the paths are never always identical in our various installations :)

Hi List,
Following the Postgres discussion with interest - thanks to all contributors!
We are about to upgrade all clients from PG10 to PG14, we'd like to install PG14 side by side and fully restore to it before deleting 10, however 14 would end up with a different port number in this case. How do we change the the port of a live database so we can then switch the port number of 14 back and not have to mess with client config files?
Best regards
Will
