Can you access regular objects from forms?

Can you access regular objects from forms in the usual way?

Where you instantiate an object by subclassing it and then you call public methods in it and pass parameters?

I noticed that there are remote objects. Are you supposed to only use them if making a remote app?

I noticed that regular objects CAN access the remote task as it’s startup task in the properties manager. 

That gives me hope.
