ODB via VPN

Then that is odd. From memory, there are other comms ports required for the ODB, or I may be imagining things again.
Using the DF ODB over a fast FTTP line is better of course, but I thought there was a SQL version of the ODB as well, which should be very fast. But you would need to convert to SQL command structure, if not already done.
Last point, the remote client is running the same OS and Omnis runtime as other local users to the network?

Hi Mike,
Yes, the remote IP address is whiten the range of the ODB server.
I can even ping to the address of the ODB server from the remote client.
It just seems that the ODB is rejecting requests coming from the remote client.
Strange.

Indeed, the VPN should pass all traffic through.
Is your remote IP address within the same range as the ODB server?

Hi Alain,
The IP adres I receive from the VPN connection is within the range of the local network.
I thought that once in via VPN you have nothing to do with the firewall, at least nothing extra because it would act as if you are local.
Thanks for the thought.

Most likely your firewall or your IP range is not what you think it is via VPN.

Hi,
I try to connect to the Omnis data bridge via a VPN.
Can’t get it working. Tried to open port 5913 on router but also no luck.
Anyone ever done this?
ODB running on Mac and Omnis version 6.
