Can you do JS Client on Desktop?

Yes - just to clarify - I don’t use the jsclient - my browser app is wholly separated from my desktop app (done in Django/python) - I simply embed it within obrowser in the desktop app (and some functionality can therefore flow back and forth between the two)

Andrews link looks like a way superior way for doing this if you are using the Omnis js client !!!!
