Drop on Finder, WinOS ?

Hi All,
I did some drag-and-drop operations in C++ application a couple of decades ago. It's a little intricate with the structure and calls to put things on the clipboard in the right format. Could possibly make an an xcomp that would provide a window widget that you could set with a specific identifier. You would be able to drag the widget to an explorer folder. Not sure how that would work on Mac.
You would get an event back indicating that your contents were dropped at a location and that you need to put your data there.
Worth it?
