Can a Mac be a full blown web server?

Hi Das,

You can choose to use another ISP to hold you domain names, and then
change the relevant DNS settings they then hold for you...

ie you might choose to leave the email with them, but choose to redirect
the www (A record) to your home IP address...

Any ISP should be able to take over your domain names, with the correct
authorisation codes...
The codes being the permission to transfer the domain over...

You might want to backup your website pages, or whatever you have on
there first off.
Also depending how you run your email, you might want to copy that down,
or get some backup if you are wary of goDaddy.

None of this information will be transferred over for you, so you need
to make sure it happens.

In reality you don't need an ISP to link to your home IP address...
but without a domain name, its harder to find it...
You could just link to it from your current website...

Without a domain name though, you won't be able to set it up as an SSL
connection.

I have seen people say they couldn’t get their web sites away from GoDaddy. I am very worried about this. I registered one with them I am very attached to: ReadMyAstrology.com<http://readmyastrology.com/>, and I have my main site Goravani.com with them… very worried.. has anybody gotten their sites away from GoDaddy?
