Using Report Sub Totals

Me again.

In a report, I have a subtotal section. The column sets $totalmode as kTmTotal and all is good.  How do I use that subtotal value in the next field in the report line?

When I use iList.$cols.project_total.$total(), it totals the whole list, and not the sub total value.

Hope that this is clear, often explaining these things is difficult.
