We are running into an issue on our Windows 2016 VPS that we are running at
our current hosting provider.
Long story short, our server keeps crashing. We end up with this error
coming up in the event log.
The description for Event ID 105 from source Omnis Studio V8 cannot be
found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your
local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair
the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to
be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
External Library File 'C:\Program Files\Omnis
Software\OS8.1.7SVR\xcomp\damdb2.dll' failed to load. OS Error: The
specified module could not be found.
External Library File 'C:\Program Files\Omnis
Software\OS8.1.7SVR\xcomp\damora8.dll' failed to load. OS Error: The
specified module could not be found.
We end up rebooting the server, and everything opens without a problem.
For the record, the two files that it says "could not be found". These
files are on the server in the location that is referenced above. Also, we
don't use db2 or oracle 8. It's just a MySQL connection.
It looks to me like there may be an issue with Apache crashing as well. And
when it has, it immediately takes Omnis down with it. But the last two
times the server has crashed, it looks like we have just ran into issues
with the Omnis App Server going down.
We're going to escalate the issue with our service provider to see if they
can point anything out to us. However, I wanted to see if anybody else had
ran into this issue with the Omnis App Server.
Any information would be appreciated!
