Huge Shout out for the help from Vic Shah!!
Thank you Vic for helping someone out as green as I am. Quick 30 minute Skype call and we are up and running.
Turns out I didn’t have the application running on the Omnis App Server. Couple other small things that needed to be tweaked. That was it. Everything came up singing.
I was under the impression that as long as the library file was in the startup directory, there was no reason to actually run it on the server. But after thinking it over, it actually makes sense to have the app server running the app on the server!
I’ll chat with you soon Vic!

Hi Jeff,
The only thing I can think of is if your omnis server ports are open on your firewall.
I’d also stress that you read this article and give it a try https://developer.omnis.net/technotes/tnwe0016.jsp. Its a handy troubleshooting tool for connectivity issues.

Vik,
When I attempt to access our signin form, the following two entries are
placed into the access.log.
::1 - - [03/Jun/2019:00:11:40 -0500] "GET /rf_signin.htm HTTP/1.1" 200 1834
::1 - - [03/Jun/2019:00:11:40 -0500] "POST /omnis_apache/jsclient HTTP/1.1"
200 -
Nothing is placed into the error.log.
Being EXTREMELY new to this side of the deployment stack, I'm somewhat at a
loss on this.
Any suggestions on what I might be looking at?
Thanks for the response!

Hi Jeff,
You might want to look at your apache logs. Do they give you any more info
than this?
Alternatively, try using this
https://developer.omnis.net/technotes/tnwe0016.jsp
<https://developer.omnis.net/technotes/tnwe0016.jsp>, you must try it from
localhost, lan and wan perspectives. This will help you debug the issue. Try
that first with the IP and then use any domain names that need to be
resolved.
Hope that helps.

I'm running into an issue on a remote forms deployment under Omnis 8.1.7.
This is on Windows Server 2016. We're running Apache to keep things
easier instead of attempting to go down the road of trying to
configure IIS which we've been told is more difficult.
Either way, I've installed the Omnis App Server. I've modified the
httpd.conf file to add the omnis Apache module. I've set the port, etc.
Basically gone through all the deployment options. Including moving
the htm files into the correct apache directory to allow the forms to
work correctly.
When I attempt to go to our login form, I get the following error
"400 Bad Request - JSON does not start with OMNISServer parameter
(Reported by OMNIS Apache module)"
I checked to make sure the config.json file was in place. Everything
looks to be in place.
Apache is running. The Omnis App Server is running. But I'm still
dealing with issues getting this first form to launch.
Chris Hughes - I'm copying you on this because you had posted this
same error back at the end of last year, but it didn't look like you
got a response at that point. Was just curious what you may have found
out.
Thanks Everyone!
