O$10: what is the rationale to skip O$9 ?

In the email from omnis it stated:

If you look at Apple, they are on version 10 since 2001 & they continue to
release product running of 10 (X). Im sure apples marketing dept is
sticking to lucky number 10 for a reason (marketing wise).
