Default for full Field Paths

I have a need to make a set of utilities from my main application a separate library.

I don't want to copy all my File Classes along with it.

I seem to remember that there was a $preference somewhere where field / file name are expressed in there full paths like ClienTrax.CLIENT.AccountNo rather than just AccountNo.  Am I correct about that or just dreaming it?

I would like to turn this on temporarily so that I can then copy my classes to the new library and not have it replace all my field references with #???.

Does anyone remember what I need to do here?
