Hey Brian,

The old NPAPI standard in use for the last few decades is more holes
then basket case. More and more browsers are dropping support for it in
favor of newer more secure approaches but if I am not mistaken a
standard hasn't come out of this so vendors are forced to support
multiple plugin architectures.

Must people are betting on new HTML5 standard and the new web assembly
technologies that are becoming prevalent.
