Hi Martin,

If you call the following in Omnis:

HTTPPage ('http://www.webservicex.net/stockquote.asmx/GetQuote?symbol=MSFT') Returns #S1

this will return information about the MSFT symbol. The rest is parsing:

HTTP/1.1 200 OK

Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<string xmlns="http://www.webserviceX.NET/"><StockQuotes><Stock><Symbol>MSFT</Symbol><Last>63.785</Last><Date>2/28/2017</Date><Time>1:21pm</Time><Change>-0.445</Change><Open>64.110</Open><High>64.200</High><Low>63.760</Low><Volume>9363079</Volume><MktCap>492.90B</MktCap><PreviousClose>64.230</PreviousClose><PercentageChange>-0.693%</PercentageChange><AnnRange>48.035 - 65.910</AnnRange><Earns>2.125</Earns><P-E>30.016</P-E><Name>Microsoft Corporation</Name></Stock></StockQuotes></string>

Does this help?

Betreff: Stock market closing prices

Hi List
I have a library in Studio 4.2 which is for running our stock market portfolios. At present I am getting prices from a FTP site. The site is worrying me as too frequently the file for the last days prices are incomplete or missing. As this has been going on for some time I wonder if they will remain in business.
I know that it is possible to download closing prices from Yahoo and also Google and closing prices are all that I need. Actually being able to do this is beyond me. I see on the web that there is code for doing it. Maybe someone on the list has already done this?
Any suggestions?
I have knocked up a small library which shows what I would like to do in that it produces a list of stocks, dates and codes to lookup prices from etc.
If anyone would like to help, I suggest replying off list and I will send the library to show what I am looking for. Subject to price I am happy to pay for this help etc

Martin Luce
