Hi All,
This in Omnis Studio 4.3.2.1 developer on a brand new Mac running Sierra which came installed on it, i.e. not an upgraded machine. The Actual ODBC Driver for SQL Server and Sybase version 4.0.3 is installed and configured with a single data source confirmed to be connecting properly with the test at the end of the configuration panels. Then I did the following:
- Launch Studio without a library running.
- Create an ODBC session of Session Type SQL Browser to connect to a database on SQL Server 2014 using the sa login so permissions are not an issue. In SQL Browser open the session, it opens fine, in Interactive SQL I execute sp_who and it returns all the expected information. I close the session.
- Create a second ODBC session with Session Type VCS using the sa login so permissions are not an issue. Open the session under VCS to our VCS database on SQL Server 2014 and it tells me that the resources are not there and do I want to install them. Of course not, I’m not interested in blowing away 15 years of history. No explanation of why I get that message.
- Modify the second ODBC session and change nothing but the Session Type from VCS to SQL Browser. In SQL Browser I then open the session, it works fine, in Interactive SQL I execute sp_who and it returns all the expected information.
- Modify the second ODBC session and change nothing but the Session Type from SQL Browser to back to VCS. In VCS I then open the session and it doesn’t find the resources.
I have an older Mac running El Capitan and one running Mavericks. Both have the older Actual drivers version 2.9b running but they will not install under Sierra. Both session described above use the same data source that I created in ODBC Manager. They both work when their Session Type is SQL Browser but not when its VCS.
Thoughts?
