Barcode readers

Mike,

Most of the barcodes can be easily printed using the appropriate font.

The simple ones only need the font, the more compact/robust barcodes
need additional processing before you have the string to “barcode”
It is also important to check what info you need to”barcode”; only
numerical of alfa ( small or large caps )

the most simple barcode is code 39 ( font is freely available )

A site with good info is
http://www.idautomation.com/free-barcode-products/code39-font/

It might be a good idea to look in the configuration papers/pdf of a
scanner that might give you additional insights on
possibilities/configuration options.

Regarding the scanners the speed at which they can read barcodes might
be a important factor in your decision as well as which barcodes can be
read.

Marc
