JDBC very slow with studio 6 on mac

Omnis doc: ... supporting a type 2 driver inside the java environment 
It's possible to do some settings inside the session page.
Squirrel is a tool written in Java: there is no wrapper in between.
Imho: the jdbc dam is using a wrapper translating jdbc results in Omnis objects.
That means, squirrel is indeed faster. 
Maybe u can tune the java environment, used by Omnis or use prepared statement.
Turn on logging, to see whats really happening behind the scenes.
