If you are talking about a "socket level" connection then I would guess
that many have done it.
The usual pattern is a store and forward model for outgoing messages or a
straight TCP listener for incoming.
It is probably possible, I am sure it is, to build something at the HTTP
SOA - SOAP Rest type model as well especially in Studio - I haven't needed
to myself.
I product like Mule will probably give you a good staring point.
