O$ (4.321 Web) How do I get the number of connected users in a ultra thin solution

Hi,
my ultrathin solution is based on the web template directhttp with the 
monitor.
 From the the outside I can call my class which then calls the 
$construct to return the html.

But : I newer sehe any action in the monitor.
Do I have to implement events in my class to see the users in the 
monitor(which is started with the startup method of my lib.
