Recommended XML Editor for Windows

IntelliJIDEA from JetBrains - though I have to admit I've never used its XML features. We use JetBrains stuff - really, really good - for work in Python and JavaScript, so would bet mileage in the XML area would be up to that standard. It also supports the broad range of things virtually all of us need to be using/aware of. Think various Frameworks, Standards... Cross-platform.

(Special thanks to Dave McKeone for putting me onto JetBrains stuff some time ago...)

Have also used the Altova tools in the past. Quite excellent, though I don't know how/if they've kept up. But there's much more there than just 'an editor'. Windoze only. Expensive-ish.

Is the need only for an editor? Or do parsing, validation, etc. come into play?

I would think the Eclipse tools for XML should be worth at least a look as well. Significantly less expensive... And, given TL plans, we may all shortly be living our Omnis lives in an Eclipse-like environment.

Having said that, the Bare Bones tools are fantastic. BBEdit is the most-used tool in my workflow, hands down. (Yes, well above the PostgreSQL CLI or even, dare I say it - Omnis (heresy, I know!) )

Hi All,

What is your favorite XML editor for Windows?  We use TextWrangler on the Mac and so have familiarity with that.  With a compelling enough argument, we'd ditch TextWrangler for something that works well/the same on both platforms.
