Your issue 1 is a very long standing issue with Omnis under Linux in various guises…..I would be very happy to know if it does actually run ok though as I have had very spotty results with Studio 5.1.1 in different Linux distros (whether runtime or dev, although i understand the option is now far more limited for $6…)
I run Linux servers these days for my app for better database performance and better Apache/Python performance for my web interface but still like to be able to run a flavour of my desktop app simply to be able to mirror what users tell me they do under their own data….so it’s not run in any prime time way - but very useful for those support elements…..
