Black screen installing Omnis 6.0.2 on Windows 8

Hi $all,

I have a need to test Studio 6.0.2 on Windows 8 and had never installed it on that platform. I run Windows 8 in VMWare Fusion on the Mac. When I start the 6.0.2 dev installer the screen goes black and nothing happens. I get a flashing DOS style cursor in the top-left corner.

When I try to reboot the VM via the VM ware menu option, OS 8 goes into an "Attempting repair" mode. It is been doing that for the last 20 minutes or so.

Has anyone had a similar experience? How as it resolved?
