O7 - ODBC Access to Studio 5.2 unicode

Can anybody save my weekend please?

I use following construction in Classic to connect to Studio datafile

Start session {OmnisSQL}
Set hostName {c:\mystudiodata.df1}
logon to host

This doesn't seem to work for Studio 5.x datafiles, i guess because of 
unicode

Is there an upgraded version of O7ODBC.DLL or do I need to install 
OmnisUnicodeODBCDriver?  I installed the latter, made a DSN Entry but 
how does it go from Omnis than?  The following doesn't seem to work

Start session {OmnisSQL}
Set hostName {MyDSNEntry}
logon to host
