$cinst.$class of a subwindow - 2

Thanks everyone,

Lots of great feedback and ideas. I didn't know about $subinst either.  
It would be nice to understand _why_ $cinst sometimes falls over when  
a window class us used as a subwindow; maybe someone in RD could  
explain or maybe there's a whole topic there for Euromnis in October!
