O$: Input Mask and cursor

Hello listers,

I have never found the solution :

when the cursor enters an input masked entry field it becomes a black  
square. And that is disturbing because a character being typped  
replace the one below the square and users complain they have to  
retype the whole field.

hitting the "help" key (on Mac OS X) make it an ibeam cursor again as  
in the non-masked entry field.

Changing the field $cursor to kcursibeam do nothing.

Trying to imitate a hit on the help key was a failure : I can't.

Have you resolved this issue ?
