O$: ODB 1.4.1 Older macs can not connect, newer ones OK

Hi Listers,

I am trying to use ODB1.4.1 on a Linux server (SUSE) with Studio 3.3.3.4 and can connect using eMacs and a pre Intel laptop, and a Win XP Pro machine with no problems. But two older Macs (old Imac running 10.2.? and a tower running OSX 10.3.9) will not connect. One crashes and the other does not open the datafile.

Is this a know issue and if so is it hardware or an Operating System problem. Client is thinking of getting new mac minis to replace these old machines if it is a hardware issue. If it is OS may upgrade to buy time before getting new Macs as the mini is due for a refresh (over do some say)
