Outlook Automation attachments

This is probably a really silly question.

We have a client using Outlook 2003 where attachments do not seem to attach, and looking through the archives it appears that using $add (instead of $xadd for earlier versions of Outlook) might do the trick. We don't have 2003 here so can't test it. If anyone knows this to be the case or not, that would be useful.

But, the main question is, how can we determine which version of Outlook the user has installed?

I assume it appears somewhere in the automation code but don't really know where to look

Regards

Michael
